It also happened to be my half birthday. So, today I took Isabel and Victoria to the March AFB museum. We had a lot of fun walking around and looking at all of the plains. The picture above is of a B-17. It is the same type of plane that Stacy's Grandfather was a Co-pilot on during WWII. We also got to see a SR-71 and a D-21 Drone. The girls and I also rode in a F-14 simulator that went round and round giving you the sensation of flying. It was fun but it made Isabel and Victoria a little sick. At one point it pulls 3Gs. Not bad for an afternoon.

At the Pool

Here is a picture of our new kids and us at the pool. We picked them up this morning and then went back to our hotel and went swimming. All of the kids had a wonderful time. We then ate lunch and now every one is playing with play-dough. The Agony this year was painful, but good. I went 224 miles in 24 hours. That was about 18 miles better than the last two times I have ridden in the Agony. It was very fun to see Dr. James Farrington there as well as many other former members of the Ranch and Discovery Expeditions.

Ryan and I took off right from the beginning pushing 25 mph just because we could. This didn't last for ever though, we soon found our pace and bobbed out the first 50 miles together. After that Jamie and Rebekah joined us and we all traveled together until well into the night. When Ryan and Rebekah decided to take a nap Jamie and I pressed on. Jamie and I kept each other going through out the night by chatting and complaining to one another about how sore our bums were. This particular topic was especially discussed during the leg out to Beckwourth. In the early morning Jamie and I joined up with Ryan and made him pull us during the next leg together. After that Ryan left us and pulled a couple of other riders that were just passing 300 miles. Jamie and I finished the ride strong sprinting it out into Loyalton.

Over the course of the ride Ryan and I duked it out for the King of the Mountain and the Sprint Jersey. We both ended up tying for the King of the Mountain but I was able to take the Sprint Jersey. This was just something the Ryan and I did to keep our selves entertained during the ride. Overall it was a very good ride this year. I was able to appreciate pain better and I know that it was not by my one power that I was able to ride for 24 hours.

Thank you all for your prayers during this event.

God Bless!

The "Z" Car

This is my new (1983) Datsun 280zx. I got it a couple of weeks ago from an airman here on base. The car is in very good shape and runs well. It only has 84,000 miles on it and still has the original tape deck, no 8-track though. Stacy and I took it for a spin to Solvang one weekend. We had a blast riding in it. I usually drive it to work on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday I try to ride my bicycle, and on Thursday and Friday I ride my Triumph (motorcycle). This makes going to work so much more fun. Stacy got me a new 22LR bolt action rifle. So, I took the girls out to the firing range on Taco road and we had a firearms safety lesson and they both got to shoot at paper targets. We all had a really good time. The girls also got me a World's Greatest Dad t-shirt and a Mighty Mouse T-shirt. The other week I wore the Mighty Mouse one under my button up shirt to church, it is white so know one would know. When we got home I showed the girls and they thought it was fun.

The Beach

Isabel running into the sunset.

We had a wonderful day at the beach on 4 March. This is only one of many beautiful pictures that we took that day. We also had a good time looking at all of the star fish and little crabs that covered the tide pools. It was not as windy as it normally is so that was nice. The only thing that we really have to watch out for are the little birds called Snowy Plovers that are protected because they are too stupid to survive on their own. So it was nice to visit the beach before it gets closed down because of the cute birds.

New Home

Hello all, we will be moving in April. I have spent the last several hours reading through Ryan and Rebekah's blogs and it has been a lot of fun. Also Stacy (my wife) saw all the pictures that they posted and wanted to do the same for us. So, I hope that all will enjoy this fun and exciting experience that we are about to embark on.
